Outline of the contact point
Greeting
Yamanashi Prefecture is home to a concentration of hydrogen and fuel cell-related R&D bases, including the University of Yamanashi, one of the world's top fuel cell research centers, FC-Cubic, a leading Japan fuel cell evaluation organization, and the Hydrogen Technology Center of the Japan Association of Hydrogen Supply and Utilization Technology Association, which can conduct various tests in the same environment as an actual hydrogen station.
Taking advantage of the superiority of the concentration of R&D bases related to hydrogen and fuel cells, the prefecture has been working ahead of Japan to develop technical human resources and support R&D in order to support the advancement of small and medium-sized enterprises into this industry.
In addition, the prefecture itself is the first in the world to develop and demonstrate the "Yamanashi Model P2G System," which produces hydrogen without emitting CO2 from surplus electricity from renewable energy, and is attracting attention both in Japan and abroad as the "key" that opens the door to renewable energy becoming a main power source.
Under these circumstances, we are supporting the expansion of small and medium-sized enterprises in the prefecture into this industry in cooperation with the University of Yamanashi and related institutions in order to develop hydrogen and fuel cell-related industries, which are expected to grow toward the realization of carbon neutrality by 2050, into key industries that will drive the prefecture, by leveraging the strengths of Yamanashi Prefecture, where R&D bases are concentrated.
